Nikon announces the 40mm f/2.8G AF-S DX Micro lens

Today, Nikon announced its new DX format Micro lens. The lens has a maximum aperture of F/2.8 which gives you a wonderful depth of field and great “bokeh”. The 40mm on a DX sensor will give you an equivalent of 60mm on a 35mm or Full Frame (FX) camera. Some may say that the 60mm equivalent is not enough but with a minimum focus distance of just 6.4 inches you can get some great macro shots. The lens will also be superb for portraits as it is extremely sharp. You can pre-order the lens here on amazon for just $279.00. You can take a look at some sample images here
